Matt’s Birthday Month and Birthday Dinner: We kicked off the beginning of this month with my favorite persons 26th birthday because his birthday is literally May 1st, or May Day as some call it. 🙂 Each year his birthday falls right before or right on The Kentucky Derby which is fun because we usually have a family birthday dinner and watch The Derby during the birthday festivities. We also make the birthday cake that I invented especially for him appropriately named Derby Pie Cake since he loves Derby Pie and is born right around the famous Run For The Roses. 🙂

Visiting Lexington and Catching Up With Friends: We did a lot of traveling this month in our family, starting with a trip to Lexington. While we were down there we got to have dinner with some of our dearest friends in the world, our Happily Hitched Family. It was so good to see the couples that are still living in the Lexington area because since we all met when we were young and newly wed most of us moved away, included us, beginning in the summer of 2013. It’s amazing though how when God brings a group of people together it does not matter the amount of distance between them because the Holy Spirit still binds His church together, and that is exactly what this group has reflected. The miles may increase but we still all talk on a regular basis (Thanks Facebook lol), support and pray for one another during life struggles and encourage and rejoice with one another during life’s momentous moments.

Opening The Pool and Preparing For Summer: I can’t take any credit for how amazing our yard and pool looks. Really all the praise should go to Matt because he’s the one who made it his personal mission to take our back yard and turn it into Pomeroy Paradise as we call it. All I can claim is the enjoyment of it because it’s pretty much heaven on earth for all of us, Kirby-Girl and Dixie-Chick included lol!

Game Nights, Picnics and Baby Showers With Friends: There was the usual hang outs, pizza parties and game nights with our usual favorite people in the area as well as a couple of group picnics at the park on Sunday’s after church and a Baby Shower for our sweet friends Ashely and Casey Kennedy who are expecting their first child in the beginning of July! We are so excited for them and know that baby Kennedy is super blessed to have those two as his parents because they are both such kind, wise people who love The Lord and each other deeply. 🙂

Home Improvement Projects: We also did a couple quick, easy and inexpensive updates to our little fixer upper of a home this month! We updated the fixtures on our kitchen cabinets and created a cute little cozy coat nook in the entryway/foyer of our Old Kentucky Home! Which we will be posting more about later on! 🙂

Girls Brunch: A couple Saturdays ago I had some of my closest friends over for a Saturday brunch and pool day. These women have been in my life since I was 10 years old and make up some of the closest, long standing friendships in my life. It was so much fun to have them over and spoil each of them with yummy homemade brunchie dishes and a beautiful summer day spent by the pool!

Memorial Day Weekend Trip to Sewickley, PA: This year for Memorial Day we took a fun weekend trip up to Sewickley, PA to see our Aunt B, Uncle Doug and cousins Emily, Ciara and Savannah. Emily just got back from studying abroad in Spain this past semester and Ciara and Savannah just finished their Freshman year of college! So it was really great to get to hear all about their adventures in person! It was such a great weekend full of sunshine, summer breezes, laughs, smiles and some of the best conversations spent on the patio together.

Day trip to Elizabethtown and Lexington: We ended the month with a fun day trip to Elizabethtown where we met our brother John and nieces Mary and Evie for lunch and some good quality family time! Then we went to Lexington and spent the afternoon strolling the streets eating Savv’s Chill Ice Cream, a favorite that is only served there. Then we picked up some Cane’s Chicken, another favorite that for now is only in Lexington, and went to the farm to spend a little quality time with our MomPom and sister Carrieli.

Well that pretty much sums up our Marvelous Month of May! Hope yours was just as grand as ours was!
Much love & prayer,
Matt & Blair
