We’ve come to find that the first few days of life with a new baby are some of the sweetest, most snuggliest, all around love, joy and grace-filled times. Spending moment upon moment with Matt just in awe of the beauty of God’s newest little miracle in our lives and that He would choose us to be such a loving little girls parents is something that I will forever remember about Annabelle’s first week in the world. ❤

“Ordinary father-daughter love had a charge to it that generally was both permitted and indulged. There was just something so beautiful about the big father complementing the tiny girl. Bigness and tininess together at last—yet the bigness would never hurt the tininess! It respected it. In a world in which big always crushes tiny, you wanted to cry at the beauty of big being kind of and worshipful of and being humbled by tiny.” ~Meg Wolitzer

Our good friend Ashley came over during Annabelle’s first week of life to meet her as well as take some photos around our home to capture what life was like during that sweet season as a new family of three. She did such an incredible job (as she always does 🙂 ) capturing all the love, joy and pride that we felt in those first couple days after having our Annabelle Jane and what an immensely special time it has been in our family to welcome not only our first born but a baby daughter at that! ❤

Our good and perfect gift ❤
“Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.”

I’m truly convinced there is nothing more precious than having a little girl. There is just something so unexplainably tender about Annabelle that instantly softens even the most callous of hearts to interact in the most gentle of ways. I think that is one of the many reasons God made little girls the way they are; to fill the world with such genuine beauty. They truly are more lovely than the most gorgeous sunset or sunrise you could ever imagine possible. They are are more dear than the most meaningful of places. Their presence is more soothing than the most serene babbling brooke. And they are more fresh and inspiring than any morning on the most high peak of the crispest mountain top at dawn! ❤

We can also say from first hand experience that having Annabelle just makes every detail of life that much more vivid and bright and fills each memory with more light than we ever thought possible! She truly is the greatest gift God gave us this year and having her healthy, happy and home with us has definitely been the best part! ❤

Much love & prayer,

Matt & Blair
