Well hello gorgeous October, and hello to our beautiful 10 month old baby girl! My o my how the seasons have come and gone and changed so quickly this past year. I can still remember this time last year when we were pregnant and anticipating Annabelle’s arrival and how excited I felt to see the leaves change color and hear Christmas music begin to play on the radio because that meant December was right around the corner, which meant Annabelle would soon be with us! And now the leaves are changing once again. The air is getting crisp and we are preparing to pull out our sweaters and boots, and in a few short weeks Christmas music will be playing on the radio yet again. Only this time instead of anticipating the birth of our daughter we will be getting ready to celebrate her first birthday!
But for now I will sip my cup of Falling Leaves Tea, yes I have Fall Tea thanks to my friend Taylor lol, and tell you about the highlights of Annabelles 10th month!
Measurements – Well our little bean sprout is back to 15 pounds, which makes me think that maybe my scale is off because when we weighed her at home just a couple weeks prior to her doctors appointment it read that she was 16 pounds…. but so is life. She is 27.9 inches tall and still hanging out in the percentile. She’s perfect and healthy though and our pediatrician assured us that part of the reason she’s so petite besides genetics is that she’s very active and has a high metabolism. And now is the time in her life where she is becoming even more active which means the pounds are just harder to keep on with all her movement, much like her shoes and hair bows lol
Best Moment – Annabelle has officially learned how to pull up on things folks! World watch out because before we know it she will be walking!… and then she’s really going to be keeping her daddy and I on our toes! She loves to pull up on everything including furniture around our home, the clothes hamper, couch cushions, amazon prime boxes, step stools, her walker (which Matt conveniently took the wheels off for now so she wouldn’t end up in the plank position every time she tries to pull up on it) and of course her mom and dad! It’s really sweet when she will be playing during the day then look back at Matt and I to see if we are watching her and when she realizes that we are right there with her all over again she gets so excited, crawls towards us and climbs right up into our lap until she is as close as she can be to us putting her little cheek next to ours cheeks. It’s as if she just wants a moment in the middle of the busyness just to be with us, as if she’s telling us how much she loves to just be with us. Then in the next moment she’s done and ready to go play again. lol
On that sweet note she’s also learned how to wrap her arm around our arms, necks and sides. So now when she cuddles with us she likes to give us little hugs/hold onto us to make sure no one is going to take her away, which also happens frequently now when we go out because that good old “stranger danger” has set in.
Worst Moment – Annabelle had her first cold this month and it was miserable! She hates the nose frida with an ever living passion, but a mom and dads gotta do what a mom and dads gotta do. And in this case that meant clearing her little nose out so she could breath. No matter how much she protested and cried “Nananana!” at us. Sleep really is the best medicine though because over the weekend Annabelle slept in till around 9:00 am each morning only to wake up to eat and play for about an hour and half and then took 2 – 2 hour solid naps during the day and went to bed at her normal time of 7:00/7:30pm. And wouldn’t you know it Monday morning rolled around and she seems much improved, and by Tuesday she was back to her normal self.
Favorite Things – Annabelle loves to wave and give high fives to everyone she meets right now. She also says “Hiiiiiiiii.” or at least that’s what it sounds like to Matt and I. Is she actually saying hi… well only she knows for sure, but it sure seems like it to us. lol Girl also loves to eat and when we aren’t going fast enough when it come to serving her she likes to let us know by saying “M0momomomo” which sounds very similar to “more more more more” to us. lol She is definitely very verbal that’s for sure. So I guess you could say her favorite thing to do is talk, in true girl fashion. lol
Highlights – Annabelle’s 10th month was filled with so many fall family traditions of ours that we have been looking forward to sharing with her. We started it off by going to Sewickly, PA to visit our family and go to Fall Fest. While we were there we also went to the Amish Farm’s that weekend.
Then we went to a couple bon fire nights with friends, as well as Apple pick and Evan’s Orchard in Georgetown. While we were in the area we stopped by in Lexington,KY for dinner. We took Annabelle to her very first restaurant together which just happened to be our old date night spot when we were newlyweds/college sweethearts – El Rancho Tapatio!
We also went to Woolfest with Annabelle for the first time this year and she got to try a little bit of the Chicken and Dumplings which she loved! Annabelle also got to experience her first Red’s Game with some friends as well as her first Hay Ride and Niederman’s Family Farm.
Last but certainly not least Annabelle attended her very first family reunion at the church her Great Great Great Grandpa Mac helped build in Berry, KY. All of her extended family was completely smitten with her and she loved meeting all of them as well.
It was definitely a good month in our books! So many fun adventures had! We are excited to see what the next months adventures will bring!
Much love & prayer,
Matt & Blair
